This 2 km walking trail travels just north of the community of Longlac along the shore of the Kenogami River. This river once served as an important route of the North West fur traders. View remnants of the early log drives, including pilings which once served to anchor the boom logs and now provide a prime perching location for the various raptors who hunt the waters for fish. A two tier viewing platform offers an excellent opportunity to view the picturesque shores of the Kenogami River and the local wildlife that make the river their home. Keep a look out for River Otters frolicking in the cool waters and the Great Blue Heron wading along the shoreline. Listen for the haunting call of the Common Loon. Take time to relax in the serenity of Nature's northern haven.
